Oldcastle had been North America's leading manufacturer of building products and materials. They sought to align their masonry products and services under a new consolidated brand — Echelon. The goal of the website was to introduce the Echelon brand to the market, simplify their offering for customers, and improve their ability to cross-sell products.
As part of this effort, I created an information architecture that allowed users to quickly learn about Echelon's product lines and download associated product resources. Based on the IA, I sketched out some templates to discuss with the design team. Designing and developing the mega-nav that worked across screen sizes and devices was a challenge.
Finally, I conducted user testing to validate our design and development decisions. It was harrowing to have all the product details distilled in a mega-nav; usability testing found that users ultimately had no issue browsing and foraging for information.
